Pieceful Privacy Policy

Elpis Studio ("Company") values the privacy of 괜찮아요 / "Pieceful" ("Service") users. Pieceful's core features (handwriting entries and monthly frames) work by default with no account and no server — all entries are stored solely on your device. Only when you optionally turn on "Sharing together" (an anonymous community feature) does the minimal text data described in Section 6 get sent to and processed on a server.

1. Information We Collect (Default State)

In the default state, with "Sharing together" turned off, we do not collect or transmit personal information to any server. Handwriting photos, finger-drawn strokes, text, and nickname are stored only on your device and are never sent to our servers. The app uses no advertising, analytics, or crash-reporting tools. Handwriting and finger strokes are treated as identifiable sensitive information and never leave the device — including when using "Sharing together" (only the plain text you confirm is sent to the community).

2. How We Use Information

In the default state there is no server-side personal information, so the Company does not access your records. All processing happens on-device for service delivery (records, frame creation). Processing when "Sharing together" is on is governed by Section 6.

3. Retention & Deletion

Data stored on your device is deleted via in-app delete or app uninstall. Data stored on the server through "Sharing together" can be permanently deleted anytime at Settings › Sharing together › Delete my account & data (the anonymous account itself is deleted too).

4. Third-Party Sharing & Processors

We do not share your personal information with third parties for advertising or marketing, and we use no advertising or tracking pixels (no Meta Pixel, Google Analytics, etc.). Only when "Sharing together" is on, we use the following processor to deliver the service: Google Firebase (data storage & anonymous auth, region: Seoul). Processing is limited to the phrase number, tone, language, and rough country you send to the community; note contents, handwriting, photos, and precise location are not shared.

5. Permissions

Camera/Photos: to capture or import handwriting; results stay on device.

Internet (network): not used for any data transmission in the default state. Only when "Sharing together" is on is it used to send/receive the data in Section 6.

6. Information Processed in "Sharing together" (Optional)

Processed only if you explicitly consent and turn this feature on. Participation is for users aged 14 and older.

• Collected/transmitted: (1) the "phrase number" of the kind words you chose and traced by hand (a reference to a phrase built into the app — not the text itself); (2) that phrase's "tone" (category) and language; (3) a rough, self-reported country from your device settings (like Korea; only when it is on a list of common countries); (4) an anonymous identifier (anonymous account ID) used to prevent abuse. We do not collect free-form text, your name, email, phone number, contacts, precise location, handwriting, or photos.
• Purpose: to provide the anonymous kind-words community and to prevent abuse (spam). Since everything exchanged comes only from phrases built into the app, no content moderation, reporting, or blocking process is needed.
• Rough country: only a country-level value from your device's region setting is used; IP addresses and precise location are never collected or stored. A source label is shown only as a soft phrase like "someone in Korea" and only when anonymity (k-anonymity) thresholds are met.
• Anonymity: published cards carry no sender-identifying information. There are no names, profiles, or reply paths, so no one can tell who anyone is.
• Retention/deletion: you can fully delete this data anytime in settings (including the anonymous account). Minimal records kept for abuse-prevention/moderation are retained only as long as necessary, then discarded.

7. Your Rights

All on-device records can be viewed, edited, or deleted by you anytime. "Sharing together" server data and the anonymous account can be fully deleted in settings.

8. Wellness Notice

Pieceful is a wellness app, not a medical device or treatment. Seek a professional if distress persists.
